As exciting as this momentous occasion may be for many a die-hard Skyrim fan out there today now that you can once again experience Bethesda's critically acclaimed action role-playing masterpiece like never before than ever on modern gaming hardware with all-new graphically enhanced visuals intact - it comes at quite an unfortunate price too!

Unfortunately, the original Skyrim Scripting Extender (SKSE) will no longer function properly within this latest iteration of the game. But fear not, dear modders and enthusiasts! The development team behind SKSE has been hard at work to create a brand-new 64-bit compatible version specifically tailored for use with Skyrim Special Edition - enter SKSE64!

In an effort to ease any concerns that may have arisen following yesterday's announcement about the impending release of this eagerly anticipated update, we would like to take a moment here today to offer our sincerest gratitude towards each and every one of you who has continued showing such unwavering patience throughout these trying times. As for those eager souls waiting impatiently in anticipation for news regarding an official release date or even just any sort of update at all on SKSE64's current status, rest assured that we are working tirelessly behind-the-scenes around-the-clock (well maybe not literally 24/7 but you get the idea) to bring this much-needed tool into your hands as soon as humanly possible.

In an attempt to quell some growing speculation and alleviate any undue anxiety that may be building among our loyal fanbase regarding potential delays or setbacks in regards to SKSE64's expected launch window, we are pleased to announce today that a beta version of the modding extender is currently scheduled for release within mid-March.

In related news, those who have been patiently waiting for updates on other ongoing projects affecting Skyrim LE (Legendary Edition) compatibility with Skyrim SE will be happy to know that significant progress has indeed been made. Specifically speaking, all meshes from the original game were recently reprocessed and thoroughly inspected once again in preparation for their eventual inclusion within SKSE64.
